So after having a great (but exhausting) time working the Sellersburg Celebrates festival in 2 million degree heat and then having to cancel another market back in Indy due to some logistics issues, my break from the digital work is over.
Now its time to dig into the 329 projects I have floating around.
One of the easier ones that is a big deal is how were are selling STL files now.
No, we haven’t left Cults 3D. In fact, it is currently still the only place you can purchase any of my designed files. ONE other option may open soon, but I love the way Cults is set up, so I don’t see a need to migrate or cross post a bunch of other places.
What is changing, is how the STL files you purchase from me are licensed. Starting today, any STL file purchased from StepBastard (Cernunnos Foundation llc) on Cults or through direct purchase will be licensed for physical commercial sale. You can print them and sell them in any venue you would like…you can even paint them or modify them first.
I am asking two things though.
First and foremost; I need attribution, so I can grow my product and keep making models for you. SO let your customers know it is a StepBastard design and share or link or qr code on your documentation.
And second; please do not reshare or illegally resell the STL files. Commercial rights are not extended to digital sales. I will not be making exceptions to that.
And that’s it.
So if you work pop up markets, sell things at fairs, flea markets, carnivals, food trucks, malls, comic and toy shows, or even have a shop of your own, feel free to buy a model, print as many as you want and make money. Here is where you can start.

How to Leverage Cults3D for Profitable 3D Printing at Flea Markets and Pop-Up Shops
In the evolving landscape of small businesses and side hustles, 3D printing has emerged as a game-changing technology. For those who run flea markets, pop-up shops, or other small retail venues, 3D printing offers an opportunity to create unique, customized products that stand out in a crowded marketplace. However, finding the right 3D printable STL files is crucial to making this endeavor profitable. That’s where platforms like Cults3D, particularly my page, come into play.
Finding the Right STL Files
One of the biggest challenges for small business owners and entrepreneurs in the 3D printing space is sourcing high-quality, printable STL files. Cults3D is a well-established marketplace for 3D models, where you can find a vast array of designs ranging from functional items to artistic pieces. My page on Cults3D is tailored specifically for people like you, who are looking to turn 3D printing into a profitable venture. The designs I offer are carefully curated and optimized for easy printing and appeal to a broad audience.
No Royalties for Small Businesses
One of the biggest advantages of purchasing STL files from my Cults3D page is the lack of royalties for businesses earning less than $1 million in revenue per year. This means you can freely use the STL files you purchase to print as many products as you need, without worrying about additional costs eating into your profits. This is particularly beneficial for small businesses, flea market vendors, and pop-up shops, where every dollar counts. With no ongoing royalty fees, you retain full control over your pricing and profit margins.
Covering Your Costs with the First Sale
The cost of purchasing an STL file is often minimal compared to the potential profit you can generate. Most files are priced affordably, and given the low material costs associated with 3D printing, you can often cover the cost of the STL file with the first item you sell. After that, every subsequent sale is pure profit. This allows for a high return on investment, making 3D printing an attractive option for small-scale retail operations.
Conclusion
For those looking to add a unique and profitable dimension to their flea market or pop-up shop, 3D printing is a powerful tool. By sourcing high-quality, royalty-free STL files from my Cults3D page, you can start printing and selling products that not only attract customers but also provide a healthy profit margin. With the right designs and a strategic approach, your investment in 3D printing can quickly pay off, helping your business stand out and thrive.
Because I specialize in Fortean Art, obviously my page will best suit you if you are looking for aliens, cryptids, monsters, and other creatures….but you will also find more utilitarian designs like pencil holders, light switch covers, or whatever other weirdness I choose to create.
