So I mentioned before how much I like to make monsters by anthropomorphizing animals. Well, it is the opposite with imagining alien life forms. I think the only reason we imagine extraterrestrials to be hominids is our own ego. I mean, even here on earth; the vast majority of animal life is arthropods, specifically insects.
I also think we need to add to our nightmares that these creatures are likely to be predatory, never mind the fact that if they are exploring they are either desperate, imperialist, or worse yet both.
Anyway this particular alien is based on a flea type design.
Since color in space is either too dark or too bright I went with spider eyes so it can see movement and bat ears for echolocation. It has powerful rear jumping legs for near flight on any low gravity planet. Also suction tentacles for gripping in the same. The extending proboscis mouth is just because I think that would be a gross way to be eaten.
And all that was done with a mixture of brush pens for color, and white pens for highlights on plain old paper.
I hope you enjoyed, and keep drawing.
