Flatwoods monster 3d printed and hand painted.

This model was a little ill fated.

As it turns out, this was the last one created before I managed to break my 3d printer. It was also the point that I decided I want to approach these differently, so this is as good a time as any to break down what folks who come here can expect.

I will be making my custom made and painted models available through Fortean Giftorium. They will be priced as the custom painted work they are. I will also be working with a third party to make all of my designs available as printed products through Fortean Giftorium as well. They will be sold unpainted and will be priced as low as I can get them without losing money, because I want to encourage the hobby of creating, and everything art related. In all likelihood I will continue to make them available as STL files on my Cults3d account, with full license to re sell them as printed models.

I hope you enjoy my take on the Flatwoods Monster model. I hope to make its various iterations available through all channels soon.

As for now, here is some stuff about Flatwoods and my creation.

The Flatwoods Monster is one of the most enigmatic cryptids of the 20th century, forever tied to the eerie autumn night of September 12, 1952, in Braxton County, West Virginia. Witnesses described a creature towering over ten feet tall, with glowing red eyes peering from a spade-shaped hood and claw-like hands extending from its long, metallic robes. The scene was bathed in an acrid mist, with an otherworldly whine cutting through the silence of the hills—a sensory experience that left both terror and awe in its wake.

But what if the hood, rather than being a stark contrast, seamlessly matched the robes, flowing into them like an organic extension of the creature itself? And what if its arms and face weren’t sharp, mechanical features but something more anthropologic—skin-like textures or sinewy, almost human qualities beneath the strange light? This interpretation, blending the alien with the earthly, might deepen the mystery, giving the Flatwoods Monster an unsettling familiarity, as if it stood on the threshold of two worlds.

The question that lingers is, what did they really see? Was it a misidentified owl, its wide wings and glowing eyes refracted through the haze of fear? A meteor streaking across the sky that sparked overactive imaginations? Or was it something truly otherworldly, a visitor whose form our minds could barely comprehend? The Flatwoods Monster remains a mirror for our fears and curiosities—a figure both strange and eerily close to home. Whatever it was, the story ensures it will haunt our imagination, urging us to keep searching the shadows for answers.
